Before we can go into the must-read books for entrepreneurs, we must establish why it’s important to read in the first place. We all want to be successful for one reason or the other. The stronger your ‘WHY’, the better off you are. I discovered earlier in my entrepreneurial journey that while you want to be successful, you must forget about doing whatever you want, whenever you want, however you want. It’s important to cultivate and develop the right habits that will push you in the right direction. Reading is one of those habits that every entrepreneur needs to cultivate in order to stay on course and to be more effective.
Someone once said, “the sharper the tools, the quicker the farmer will get the job done”. This sums up what life is like. The more knowledge you have, the better off you will be at what you do. It’s also good to learn from the people that are already successful, learning their good habits and doing the same things. You can check out my article on Habits of successful entrepreneurs here. Most of the richest men and women in the world today read more than you could ever imagine. I will give you a few examples;
Bill Gates reads about 50 books a year.
Oprah Winfrey reads one book every month.
Warren Buffet devotes 80% of his day to reading.
Why entrepreneurs must read books.
Ever heard of;
“success leaves clues?”
- You will learn what other successful entrepreneurs did to get where they are.
- Helps develop the skills you have.
- It will give you tips on how to go about different situations in your business.
- The more knowledge you have, the quicker and better decisions you will make.
- The problems you will meet as an entrepreneur are not unique. You will learn what others did when they were faced with the same.
